On 12/8/10, the House passed H.R. 5012, the Weekends Without Hunger Act , to amend the Richard B. Russell National School Lunch Act to establish a weekend and holiday feeding program to provide nutritious food to at-risk school children on weekends and during extended school holidays during the school year.
On 12/8/10, the House passed S 3817, the CAPTA Reauthorization Act of 2010, to amend the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act, the Family Violence Prevention and Services Act, the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment and Adoption Reform Act of 1978, and the Abandoned Infants Assistance Act of 1988 to reauthorize the Acts.

Impeachments  
On 12/8/10, the Senate found G. Thomas Porteous Jr., U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of Louisiana, guilty of the charges contained in Articles I, II, III, and IV of the articles of impeachment and ordered and adjudged that he be removed from office and forever disqualified to hold and enjoy any office or honor, trust, or profit under the United States.

On 12/9/10, HUD announced a request for public comment on a proposed information collection, Transformation Initiative: Homeless Families Small Grant Research Demonstration Program, to enhance the demonstration project conducted by the Office of Policy Development focusing on Homeless Families by providing a vehicle for conducting a number of small research projects aimed at collecting additional supplemental information and analyses.
