On 9/11/09, the Administration for Children and Families, Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), announced a request for public comment on a final rule concerning the Foster Care Eligibility Review Program Improvement Plan, the Child and Family Services Reviews (CFSR) State Agency Statewide Assessment, the CFSR On-Site Review, the CFSR Program Improvement Plan, and the Anti-Discrimination Enforcement Corrective Action Plan. On 9/11/09, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, HHS, announced a request for public comment on a proposed project, the Calibration of the Short Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) in the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS), which calibrates the SDQ on the NHIS to a standard psychiatric measure to ensure that the short SDQ is a valid measure of child mental health. On 9/10/09, the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs approved S 797, to amend the Indian Law Enforcement Reform Act, the Indian Tribal Justice Act, the Indian Tribal Justice Technical and Legal Assistance Act of 2000, and the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 to improve the prosecution of, and response to, crimes in Indian country.

On 9/11/09, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Department of Homeland Security, announced a final rule identifying communities, where the sale of flood insurance has been authorized under the National Flood Insurance Program, that are scheduled for suspension on the effective dates listed within this rule because of noncompliance with the floodplain management requirements of the program.
