On 11/3/09, the Department of Education announced a request for public comment on a submitted information collection, the Student Assistance General Provisions for Financial Assistance for Students with Intellectual Disabilities, which allows students with intellectual disabilities who enroll in an eligible comprehensive transition and postsecondary program to receive Title IV Higher Education Act program assistance under the Federal Pell Grant and other programs. Emergency Preparedness and Response
The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee will mark up several bills, including HR 3377, to amend the Robert T. On 11/3/09, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced the 12/2/09-12/4/09 HHS Public Health Emergency Medical Countermeasures Enterprise Stakeholders Workshop 2009, which will address plans to enhance national response capabilities and the current state of public health emergency medical countermeasure preparedness, among other things. On 11/3/09, the Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI) Fund, Department of the Treasury, announced an 11/16/09 meeting in Washington, DC, of the Community Development Advisory Board, which advises the director of the CDFI Fund on the policies regarding the activities of the fund. On 11/2/09, the Senate passed S Res 332, commemorating the 20 th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the end of the division of Europe, and the beginning of the peaceful and democratic reunification of Germany.
On 11/3/09, the deputy secretary of State announced a declaration determining that the U.S. provision to the government of southern Sudan of non-lethal military assistance, military education and training, and defense services controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations is in the national interest of the United States, and that such assistance may be provided pursuant to the Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Appropriations Act, 2009. On 11/3/09, the Department of Veterans Affairs announced an 11/24/09 meeting in Washington, DC, of the Cooperative Studies Scientific Evaluation Committee, which advises the chief research and development officer through the director of the Clinical Science Research and Development Service on the relevance and feasibility of proposed projects and the scientific validity and propriety of technical details, including protection of human subjects.
