On 7/20/09, the Department of Housing and Urban Development announced the availability on its website of the application information, submission deadlines, funding criteria, and other requirements for the Self-Help Homeownership Opportunity Program for fiscal year 2009, which makes funding assistance available to national and regional nonprofit organizations and consortia that facilitate and encourage innovative homeownership.
