On 11/13/08, the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), announced that certain programs within the agency will administratively impose a matching requirement on grants awarded under the programs. FR 67182.
On 11/17/08, the ACF, HHS, announced a solicitation for comments on a proposed information collection on foster care and adoption laws and judicial processes, in order to develop and implement a plan for system improvement. Comments are due 1/12/09. FR 67872.
On 11/17/08, the Wage and Hour Division, Department of Labor, announced final regulations, effective 1/16/09, implementing the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993, including new military family leave entitlements. FR 67934.

Immigration Law
On 11/13/08, the Customs and Border Protection, Department of Homeland Security (DHS), announced a final rule, effective 1/12/09, that requires all nonimmigrant aliens traveling to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program to obtain an approved travel authorization. FR 67354.

Presidential Action
On 11/12/08, the president declared 11/9/08 as World Freedom Day, reaffirming the dedication of the people of the United States to freedom and democracy.
Legal Services
On 11/14/08, the Legal Services Corporation (LSC) announced its intention to make FY 2009 Competitive Grant Awards, beginning 1/1/09. Comments are due 12/15/08. FR 67550.
On 11/14/08, the LSC announced a meeting of the Board of Directors on 11/20/08 at 2 pm, Washington, DC. FR 67554.
On 11/17/08, the LSC announced a final rule, effective 12/31/08, revising its regulation on procedures for disclosure of information under the Freedom of Information Act. FR 67791.

On 11/17/08, the US Patent and Trademark Office, Department of Commerce, announced a final rule, effective 12/17/08, that provides for an annual practitioner maintenance fee for those recognized to practice before the office in patent cases. FR 67750.
