On 6/2/08, the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, Department of Education, issued a notice announcing funding opportunities to provide technology and media services for individuals with disabilities as part of the Technology and Media Services for Individuals with Disabilities program. The purposes of the program are to: improve results for children with disabilities by promoting the development, demonstration, and use of technology; support educational media services activities designed to be of educational value in the classroom setting to children with disabilities; and provide support for captioning and video description of educational materials that are appropriate for use in the classroom setting.
