Floor Action

On 1/23/08, the House passed HR 3992, to amend Title I of the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 to provide grants for the improved mental health treatment and services provided to offenders with mental illnesses.

On 1/23/08, the House passed HR 3971, to encourage states to report to the Attorney General certain information regarding the deaths of individuals in the custody of law enforcement agencies.

On 1/23/08, the House voted to sustain the president’s veto of HR 3963, to amend Title XXI of the Social Security Act to extend and improve the Children’s Health Insurance Program.

Housing and Homelessness

Floor Action

On 1/23/08, the House passed HR 3873, to expedite the transfer of ownership of rural multifamily housing projects with loans made or insured under Section 515 of the Housing Act of 1949 so that such projects are rehabilitated and preserved for use for affordable housing.
