On 11/28/08, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced an interim rule, effective 12/29/08, to conform HUD’s regulations to the self-implementing provisions of the statutory protections provided by the Violence Against Women Act. FR 72336.
On 12/1/08, the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, Department of Education, issued final regulations, effective 12/31/08, governing the Assistance to States for Education of Children with Disabilities Program and the Preschool Grants for Children with Disabilities Program, in the areas of parental consent, non-attorney representation in due process hearings, state monitoring and allocation of funds.
