Civil Rights/Constitutional Law
On 9/13/07, the United States Commission on Civil Rights announced a meeting to be held at 9:30 am on 9/21/07 regarding the Sunshine Act and will include a briefing on minorities in foster care and adoption. FR 52344.

On 9/12/07 the Senate Finance Committee ordered favorably reported S 1200, the Medicare, Medicaid and SCHIP Indian Health Care Improvement Act of 2007.
Housing and Homelessness
On 9/12/07, the House passed HR 3074, making appropriations available for the Departments of Transportation, and Housing and Urban Development and related agencies for the fiscal year ending 9/30/08, clearing the measure for the president.
The Western Hemisphere Subcommittee, House Foreign Relations Committee, will hold a hearing on U.S.-Brazil relations. 9/19/07, 2:30 pm, 2172 Rayburn.
The Middle East and South Asia Subcommittee, House Foreign Affairs Committee, will hold a hearing titled, “U.S. Relations with Saudi Arabia: Oil, Anxiety and Ambivalence.” 9/18/07, 1:30 pm, 2172 Rayburn.
On 9/12/07 the Senate received the following nominations to represent the United States at the Sixty-Second Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations: Ted Poe, of Texas, to be a Representative; George E.
