On 11/15/11, Conferees agreed to a conference report resolving the differences between the House- and Senate-passed versions of HR 2112, making consolidated appropriations for the Departments of Agriculture, Commerce, Justice, Transportation, and Housing and Urban Development, and related programs for the fiscal year ending 9/30/12, including $348 million for the Legal Services Corporation.

On 11/16/11, the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity, Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), announced it is soliciting comments on a proposal to establish uniform standards for determining when a housing practice with a discriminatory effect violates the Fair Housing Act. On 11/16/11, the Office of Sustainable Housing and Communities, HUD, announced a comments request on its draft Environmental Justice Strategy, which is a four-year plan to address environmental justice concerns and increase access to environmental benefits through HUD policies, programs, and activities.
