On 4/27/11, the Social Security Administration (SSA) announced a request for public comment on a proposed information collection, Authorization to Disclose Information to SSA, regarding the procedures an applicant must take to authorize the release of information from various sources to SSA. Comments are due 5/27/11. FR23640.
On 4/27/11, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), announced proposed Base Flood Elevations (BFEs) and proposed BFE modifications for specified communities, used as a part of the floodplain management measures that the community is required either to adopt or to show evidence of having in effect in order to qualify or remain qualified for participation in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). On 4/29/11, FEMA, DHS, announced a request for public comment on a proposed information collection, Federal Assistance to Individuals and Households Programs (IHP), programs which enhance an applicants’ ability to request approval of late applications, request continued assistance, appeal program decisions, and allows states to partner with FEMA for delivery of disaster assistance under the ‘‘ Other Needs ’’ provision of the IHP. On 4/28/11, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced a request for public comment on a proposed information collection, Assessing the Availability of Primary Care Physicians Accepting New Patients and Timeliness of Services for New Patients Using a Mystery Shopper Approach, to collect data from physician offices in order to accurately gauge availability of Primary Care Physicians (PCPs) accepting new patients, assess the timeliness of services from PCPs, and gain insight into the precise reasons that PCP availability is lacking. On 4/28/11, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), HHS, announced a request for public comment on a proposed information collection, Evaluating Act Against AIDS Social Marketing Campaign Phases Targeting Consumers, regarding the 5-year Act Against AIDS communication campaign to reduce HIV incidence in the .
On 4/29/11, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), HHS, announced a request for public comment on a proposed information collection, Section 1115 (of the Social Security Act) Demonstration HIV and AIDS Application Template, which allows the secretary of HHS to waive selected provisions of Section 1902 of the act for experimental, pilot, or demonstration projects, and to provide Federal Financial Participation for demonstration costs which would not otherwise be considered as expenditures under the Medicaid State plan, when the secretary finds that the demonstrations are likely to assist in promoting the objectives of Medicaid. On 4/27/11, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced a request for public comment on a proposed information collection, Application for HUD/FHA Insured Mortgage ‘‘Hope for Homeowners ’’, to collect information on new mortgages offered by FHA approved mortgagees to mortgagors who are at risk of losing their homes to foreclosure, who, under the program, share the newly created equity (Exit Premium) with FHA. On 4/27/11, the Department of State announced a final rule, effective immediately, to broaden the authority of a consular officer to revoke a visa at any time subsequent to issuance of the visa, in his or her discretion, in order to expand consular officer visa revocation authority to the full extent allowed by statute and to allow consular officers and designated officials within the department to revoke a visa provisionally while considering a final visa revocation. On 4/28/11, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), DHS, announced a request for public comment on a proposed information collection, National Interest Waivers; Supplemental Evidence to I–140 and I–485, used by the USCIS to determine eligibility for national interest waiver requests and to finalize the request for adjustment to lawful permanent resident status. On 4/29/11, the Office of Justice Programs, Department of Justice (DOJ), announced a request for public comment on a proposed information collection, Violence and Victimization Experiences of Indian Women Living in Tribal Communities Study, to conduct a comprehensive study of violence against American Indian and Alaska Native women living on tribal reservations and in Alaska Native villages, in order to develop the knowledge, tools, experience, and methods to coordinate and field a larger study as mandated by Congress. On 4/27/11, the Legal Services Corporation announced a final rule, effective 5/27/11, to amend the LSC’s regulation on fee-generating cases to clarify that it applies only to LSC and private non-LSC funds. FR23502.
On 4/28/28/11, DHS announced it is removing a list of countries from, and relieving nonimmigrant nationals or citizens of these countries from compliance with, the special registration procedures under the National Security Entry-Exit Registration System (NSEERS). FR23820.
On 4/29/11, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced a 5/18/11 – 5/20/11 meeting of the Advisory Committee on Homeless Veterans, in Tampa, FL, to receive briefings from VA and other officials regarding services for homeless Veterans, and to discuss final preparation of its upcoming annual report and recommendations to the secretary.
