Young Lawyer of the Year Award

The ABA YLD awards Member Service Subgrants in dollar amounts up to $500, and affiliates may submit an application for more then one program. During the 2005–06 bar year, the Division awarded $3,800 for affiliates’ projects. Because the application can be time consuming, organizations are encouraged to submit their best project.
Priority is given to affiliates with small annual budgets, new affiliates, and minority projects. The selection committee will be looking for creative ideas to increase professionalism/ethics development, increase membership, or assist law students.
Applications were sent to affiliates in January and are also available electronically on the ABA YLD webpage at www.abanet.org/yld/affiliateleaders/subgrantfunding.html. The deadline for all subgrant applications is February 28, 2007. Subgrant recipients will be announced at the ABA YLD Spring Conference in Montréal, Québec.
For more information and to download an application package, please visit the ABA YLD webpage or contact Ryan Reed, the subgrant chief judge, at 270/782–7911 or rreed@hughesandcoleman.com, or Gina Sadler of the ABA YLD at 312/988-5671 or Gina.Sadler@americanbar.org.
