Group and Committee News

Practice Management Group

The Practice Management Group is a diverse group of four Committees: Economics, Technology and Practice Methods; Ethics and Professionalism; Real Property Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution; and Pro-Bono. The Group is presenting three programs at the Spring Symposia Meeting on Thursday, May 3 entitled "A Potpourri of Topics to Improve and Protect Your Practice." The programming within this topic will be: "Make Your iPad Work Like a Laptop," the "Dodd-Frank Mortgage Lending Update," and "Hot Topics from the Ethics Corner." On Friday, May 4, Mike Rubin, a member of the Ethics Committee and a national expert on the topic, will present “What’s so Unethical About Social Media? How to Avoid Getting Cornered.” Mike always finishes his presentation with a piano serenade of a song he has composed relating to his topic, making him one of the most appreciated presenters at the Spring Meeting! The Group is also planning to have the iPad CLE presentation become an article for Probate & Property.

The Group is also planning eCLEs on Dodd-Frank, the foreclosure crisis and the ethics of representation in foreclosure matters. They welcome new committee members and ideas for presentations, eCLEs and Probate & Property articles.
