Group and Committee News |
The Charitable Planning and Organizations Group is comprised of three committees: Charitable Planning Committee, Charitable Organizations Committee, and Legislative and Regulatory Issues Committee. The Group keeps its members informed of current developments through quarterly membership calls and frequent postings to its website. Recent call topics have included Sales of CRT Income Interests, Preserving Donor Intent and Limitations on Political Activities of both public and private charities. The Group is sponsoring three sessions at the upcoming RPTE Spring Symposia in New York, including presentations on current developments, as well as conservation easements, next generation philanthropy, and non-profit governance. Group leadership will be meeting with representatives from the Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service in April to discuss legislative and regulatory issues. This is the second year for this meeting, which the Group hopes will become an annual event. |
