LPM Section News: ABA TECHSHOW Summary, New Orleans Community Revival with Technology, and the New LPM Website

ABA TECHSHOW 2006: A Success!
The LPM Section had a great turnout at ABA TECHSHOW this April with more than 2100 attendees, many as first-time attendees. Each attendee received a complimentary thumb drive and a $20 discount coupon on LPM publications. Over 125 exhibitors participated in the 2006 expo with a good portion renewing booths for ABA TECHSHOW 2007. The conference offered three days of CLE sessions packed with knowledge about legal technology tools. Topics varied from digital discovery to electronic evidence to e-lawyering to advanced IT discussions. Various LPM publications were given away at the end of sessions. Several of the exhibit hall attendees participated in the Passport to Prizes giveaway and received such gifts as a digital camera, an iPod, a BlackBerry, LPM publications, and other great prizes. The receptions were well attended and gave attendees an opportunity to network and socialize. Join the LPM Section for ABA TECHSHOW 2007 from March 22-24, 2007 at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel. For more information, visit www.techshow.com.

New Orleans New Law:  Community Revival with Technology
The LPM Section is honored to co-sponsor a free program in New Orleans May 22-23, for Gulf Coast attorneys and firms who are recovering from the effects of the 2005 hurricane season.  LPM leader Tom O'Connor is coordinating the Section's efforts with the Louisiana State Bar Association, to present a two-day CLE program emphasizing the ways in which law office technology tools can help attorneys rebuild their practices.  LPM and LSBA are grateful for the legal technology vendors who contributed to this effort.
