Section Briefs
 Focus on Women Rainmakers

I am Woman, I am Invincible, I am Tired… Women, does this sound familiar? Most women can identify with that statement, but especially women in the legal profession! Did you know the ABA Law Practice Management Section has a group just for you? Women Rainmakers began over a decade ago and is still going strong. They have three primary goals:
To educate professional women about marketing and business development.
To provide mentor opportunities for all members on both a local and national level.
To provide networking personal and professional relationships.

Section Members Leaders in Legal Blogs

Blogs are quickly becoming the new trend on the Internet, and in the legal technology community. A blog, short for "Web Log," is an online diary on specific topics. Dennis Kennedy and Rick Klau are two LPM Section members who are publishing very successful blogs in the legal community.

Dennis Kennedy, an intellectual property lawyer from St. Louis, focuses on intellectual property and legal technology issues. Check out Dennis' blog at http://www.denniskennedy.com/blog .

Tech Tip of the Month
If you're setting up document imaging and archiving for a small law firm, consider the new 20 page per minute USB 2.0 scanners tend to be less expensive and easier to set up and use than comparable SCSI scanners. For more Tech Tips, check out Law Practice Today's Technology section. Tips updated weekly!

Rick Klau runs a blog called tins. Tins focuses mostly on technology, professional services, knowledge management and business strategy. Visit tins at http://www.rklau.com/tins .

Both blogs are featured on the Daily Whirl and were noted by ABA TECHSHOW® 2003 speakers as sites not to be missed. Congratulations to Dennis and Rick!

In The Spotlight focuses on the accomplishments of LPM Members. To submit your or a colleague's name and achievement for recognition, please contact Lea Rucker at ruckerl@staff.abanet.org.
