House of Delegates concurs with proposed law school accreditations standards

The ABA House of Delegates considers Resolutions 103A and 103B, involving revisions to the ABA Standards and Rules of Procedure for Approval of Law Schools.  The delegates concur with new standards allowing for more distance learning at law schools, requiring more practical skills training and providing for other reforms but, after impassioned pleas from members of the ABA Law Student Division, refer back to the section for further study an existing standard that bars law schools from granting academic credit for student participation in paid externships.

The discussion took place at on Aug. 11 during the 2014 Annual Meeting in Boston.
