Law Day 2014 spotlights voting rights

With this year’s May 1 observance falling on the eve of the 50th anniversary of the landmark Voting Rights Act of 1965, the American Bar Association is focusing on the importance of a citizen’s right to vote and the work that remains to protect that right for every American. 

In this radio news release, ABA President James R. Silkenat urges Congress to pass the Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2014 — strengthening one of the most effective civil rights laws ever enacted.
