ABA honors Sen. Portman with Congressional Justice Award

By John Glynn

Sen. Rob Portman, R-Ohio, receives the American Bar Association Congressional Justice Award for his efforts to combat human trafficking and for his leadership on the reauthorization of the Second Chance Act.

Portman was one of four members of Congress honored with the award on April 9. The awards are given as part of the ABA’s annual effort to connect policymakers with constituents in the legal profession. ABA Day 2014 brings distinguished lawyers from 50 states to D.C. to discuss issues such as funding for the Legal Services Corporation, the Voting Rights Amendment Act and opposition to burdensome tax reforms affecting law firms.
