Video Highlights: Victims' privacy is critical, says special victims' counsel

By John Glynn

Capt. Amanda K. Snipes of the Scott Air Force Base Special Victims' Counsel Program says common victim concerns include privacy (protecting mental health records, prior sexual history), respectful treatment and safety.  Recent successes of the program include the use of a "comfort" dog in court proceedings and obtaining a second opinion on mental health diagnosis.

Snipes spoke during the ABA Solo, Small Firm and General Practice Division panel, "Air Force Special Victims' Counsel Program: One Year Later," on Feb. 8 at the 2014 ABA Midyear Meeting in Chicago. This video presents highlights from the discussion.
