WASHINGTON, D.C., Aug. 5, 2013 — U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Anthony M. Kennedy will be the featured speaker at the Opening Assembly of the American Bar Association Annual Meeting in San Francisco. The assembly will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, at Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall, 201 Van Ness Ave.
ABA President Laurel G. Bellows will introduce Kennedy and preside at the assembly. Bellows and Kennedy will be joined on the stage by San Francisco Mayor Edwin M. Lee and California Chief JusticeTani G. Cantil-Sakauye.
With more than 1,400 top-quality legal programs and events and presentations by the foremost law experts and speakers, the ABA Annual Meeting is the nation’s premier gathering of legal professionals. Other high-profile speakers at the meeting include Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. (Aug. 12, 10 a.m.) and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton (Aug. 12, 3 p.m.).
ABA media credentials will be required for admission to the Opening Assembly and all events at the meeting. Reporters may register online or on site at the Moscone Center West, Exhibition Hall, first floor, beginning at 8 a.m. on Aug. 8. A press room for accredited reporters will be provided in 2014 Overlook, located on the second floor of the Moscone Center West, starting at 9 a.m. on Aug. 8. The room will be open daily thereafter from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will close one hour after the House of Delegates adjourns on Aug. 13.
