WASHINGTON, D.C., Sept. 25, 2012 – Senior officials from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, including Commissioner Elisse B. Walter, will take part in an American Bar AssociationSection of International Law program on Oct. 2. The program is available via webcast/teleconference and will take place from 11:30 a.m. – 1:35 p.m. EDT. The 13th Annual “Live from the SEC” program, “A Review of Recent Developments in International Securities Regulation and Enforcement,” will feature moderators from Washington, D.C., and London.
Specific topics for discussion include: SEC rulemaking under Dodd-Frank and the JOBS —Jumpstart Our Business Startups — Act; cooperation between international regulators; and hot topics in SEC’s enforcement efforts, including insider trading in a cross-border context, enforcement under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and how foreign legislation such as the UK Bribery Act has resulted in joint efforts.
