10B ADOPTED - Supports Title 28 Provisions Regarding Magistrate Powers

RESOLVED, That the American Bar Association supports the provisions of Title 28, U.S.C. § 636(c)(1), enacted in 1979, which grants United States magistrate judges, upon the consent of the parties, the power to conduct any and all proceedings in a jury or non-jury civil matter in federal court and to order the entry of judgment in the case, as being consistent with and not violative of Article III of the United States Constitution.
