“I am very pleased to see that Bill Gibson has been chosen as this year’s honoree,” said Joan Bullock, chair of the ABA Law Practice Management Section. “Over the years, Bill’s commitment and dedication to improving the professional lives of lawyers make him the quintessential person to receive LPM’s prestigious Sam Smith Award. Bill is a stalwart leader in law practice management and has garnered the well-deserved respect and admiration of his peers.”
The Samuel S. Smith Award, named in honor of the late Samuel S. Smith, a founding member and early chair of the section who later became ABA treasurer, was established in 1999 to mark the section’s 25th anniversary. It is the highest honor bestowed by LPM, recognizing an individual who has demonstrated outstanding lifetime achievement in the field of law practice management.
