From Generation to Generation: Remarkable Women Leaders
August 7, 2010 - San Francisco, CA (ABA Annual Meeting)
Date: Saturday, August 7, 2010
Location: Gallery Ballroom, 2nd Floor, St. Regis Hotel
Time: 10:00 a.m. - 12 noon
In recognition of the 20th anniversary of the Margaret Brent Women Lawyers of Achievement Award, a panel of successful women lawyers and leaders, all former Brent Award honorees, will discuss the personal qualities and experiences that shaped their careers. Moderated by Mary Cranston, herself a Brent Award recipient, and her daughter Susie Cranston, co-author of the recently-published book How Remarkable Women Lead: The Breakthrough Model for Work and Life, the panel will focus on what drives women leaders. Based on five years of research, common behaviors in women leaders – including (1) finding passion and meaning, (2) choosing energizing activities, (3) positive thinking and framing, (4) networking, and (5) speaking up and taking risk – will serve as the framework for the panel discussion. The panelists’ stories, insights, and perspectives on their journeys to the top of the legal profession will inspire you and teach you how to inspire others.
