Tracking Oil Spills around the World (and the Web)
Oil has been in the news a lot lately. The price of oil has skyrocketed; oil companies have returned record profits; and the U.S. has continued to look for new sources of oil, both at home and abroad.
Oil was in the news for a different reason at Easter in 1989, when the oil tanker Exxon Valdez struck a reef in Prince William Sound off the coast of Alaska, and spilled millions of gallons of oil into the ocean. In this edition of Students in Action, you can learn more about the Exxon Valdez disaster through a web quest that takes you all over the web.
