The Oakland County Bar Association is hosting its 20th annual Youth Law Conference on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, from 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. at the Management Education Center in Troy, MI. The Youth Law Conference is a one-day event for high-school juniors and seniors that features a variety of legal issues as they pertain to students. It is designed to help students become more informed, educate them as citizens, and provide tools for future responsible decision-making. This year the Honorable Derek W. Meinecke from the 44th District Court in Royal Oak, MI is the keynote speaker and the students will attend breakout session on topics including Cyberspace Minefields, Legal Professional Panel, criminal law, employment law, consumer protection, Using Forensic Evidence to Solve Crimes, Healthy Relationships and Violence in Dating, and a K-9 Unit demonstration.
