Regulatory Scheme: Under the Kentucky Rules of Professional Conduct, lawyers may state that they have been certified as specialists by programs that the attorney proves to a bona fide certifying program.  Comment [3] to Kentucky Rule 7.40 defines such a program as "an organization approved by an appropriate state authority, such as a state bar association, or ... an organization that qualifies under Peel v. Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission of Illinois, 496 U.S. 91."
