Resolution Concerning Multidiscipinary Practice (MDP)

WHEREAS, the issue of Multidisciplinary Practice (MDP) has been in the forefront of global issues effecting the practice of law;

WHEREAS, in 1999, then Chancellor Edward Chacker appointed a task force to study the issue of MDP and then make a report and recommendation to the Association’s Board of Governors on the issue;

WHEREAS, that task force has now issued a report and recommendations (the "Report");

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that:

  1. The Report is hereby adopted as the position of the Philadelphia Bar Association on MDP; and
  2. The Board requests representatives of the Association to advocate for and vote in favor of the position stated within the Report at both the Pennsylvania Bar Association House of Delegates and the American Bar Association House of Delegates; and
  3. The Chancellor is directed to forward a copy of the Report to the Justices of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and to the Presidents of the American Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
