Center for Professional Responsibility
American Bar Association
541 North Fairbanks Court
Chicago, IL 60611-3314
On behalf of Indiana Farm Bureau and 268,000 Farm Bureau families, I would like to express support for the consideration of multidisciplinary practices by the ABA.
Indiana Farm Bureau receives frequent calls from Farm Bureau members who wish answers to legal questions. Our members with interests in agriculture frequently reside in rural areas or small towns undeserved by the legal community. We believe it would be more economically feasible for lawyers to provide legal services to rural residents by bundling professional services into multidisciplinary firms.
We feel that the current rules limit the availability of quality legal advice to many Farm Bureau members. This is a consumer market that lawyers are not fully addressing. In your discussions on rules changes, please give full consideration to these people.
Thank you for the opportunity to provide comments.
