Message From Your Governor

My name is Laura Dugas and I am the newly-elected Governor of the Fifth Circuit, your Circuit, of the ABA Law Student Division. As a Governor student at Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi, I am honored and energized by this opportunity to serve you. The Fifth Circuit spans the great states of Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, and Puerto Rico, with students hailing from 27 law schools. I’ve enjoyed meeting so many of you and hope to meet many more at our Fall and Spring conferences.

First and foremost, please know that my role in this position is to answer the questions, advocate the positions, and broaden the horizons of each and every one of you. On that expansive note, I encourage you to contact me if you have questions or suggestions about how we can better serve you.

Throughout the year we will provide several opportunities to network and take advantage of ABA programming to enhance your law school experience.  Our Fall Roundtable and Spring Circuit conferences will be invaluable to you in your legal career, and you will form some great friendships at the same time. I welcome any suggestions you have regarding their planning, and I will keep you updated with further details.

 /psincerely,

Laura M. Dugas
5th Circuit Governor
