A Note from GPSLD's Law Student Division Liaison: I am honored to serve as the American Bar Association's Government and Public Sector Lawyers Division's Law Student Division Liaison for 2011-2012.
My name is Dietrick Miller, and I am a third year law student at UCLA School of Law. As your law student liaison, I represent the interests of all law students across the country to this Division. I understand the concerns of law students and I am sensitive to changes that impact the lives of law students.
GPSLD has created some wonderful initiatives to help address some of your concerns. As a member of this Division, you will have access to all of the membership resources including: an email discussion list, mentorship program, division publications, and the Public Lawyer Career Center.
If you are interested in government or public interest work, I encourage you to join and become an active member of GPSLD. There are many opportunities for law students to network, win scholarships, find summer internships, and write for publications. Please check the website regularly for details.
My goals for this year are to enhance student opportunities and involvement in the Division as well as help law students dedicated to public service navigate the current economy and challenging hiring situation within public entities. If you have suggestions for programming or questions about how to get involved, please feel free to contact me at gpsld@americanbar.org.
Best Regards,
Dietrick L. Miller
