Amicus Center

Amicus Central

The ABA Forum on Communications Law is pleased to announce that as a new service to its members it has created a page on its web site on which Forum members can post information concerning current appellate proceedings and their interest in amicus curiae support. The new page will be called Amicus Central. Any member of the Forum may post information on the page by making a submission to Teresa Ucok at the ABA. Her email address is Teresa.Ucok@americanbar.org . The information should include the Docket Number and Court, all counsel with contact information, a brief description of issues on appeal, the nature of the amicus support sought, deadlines, links to briefs and orders, and other contact information. The information also should classify the subject of each appeal within one of the categories on the site. The initial categories are Defamation, Privacy and Other Newsgathering Torts, Access, Subpoenas, Trademark, Copyright, Regulatory, Antitrust, Prior Restraint, and Other. Additional catergories or subcategories may be added. Forum members also may subscribe through the site to a service that will send emails regarding new postings on the site. Ideas for future modifications of this service may be directed to the following Forum members who have assisted in the development of the amicus site:
