About:

Status offenses include running away, incorrigibility, truancy or drinking underage. Many youth are arrested and enter court each year for status offenses.

 

Risks:

Status offenders are often at high risk for deeper involvement in the juvenile or criminal justice system and research shows that many have been abused or neglected. Often family conflict is at the root of the case.
