The archive allows members who missed a live broadcast the opportunity to enjoy the presentation, while also providing members who attended the ability to revisit the recording and material at their leisure.

The Legal Writing Institute honored the Business Law Section author of “A Manual of Style for Contract Drafting,” Kenneth A. Adams, with the Golden Pen Award. The award recognizes individuals or organizations who have significantly contributed to the improvement of legal writing. The award will be presented to Adams at the 2014 Biennial Conference of Legal Writing Institute in July.

Volume 69, Number 1 of The Business Lawyer is now available to all Section members to read online. A hard copy of the journal will be mailed to all Business Law Section lawyer and associate members, in addition to any subscribers. Student Section members may access PDF copies of the journal online.

The advance registration deadline for the M&A Committee Meeting has been extended from January 17 to January 22. If you have a hotel room in the group block at either the host hotel (The Montage) or the overflow hotel (the Surf and Sand), but have not registered by January 22, your room reservation will be cancelled to accommodate registered guests.

Applications for the Business Law Section 2014 Mendes Hershman Student Writing Contest are due tomorrow. Students may submit papers authored in the previous or current academic year. Winners will be selected based on the topic, writing style, research, analysis, originality, and contribution to the current literature.

Business Law Section members may now purchase the 2013 Supplement to the Fourth Edition of the Model Business Corporation Act Annotated for $199.95. The Supplement is available to non-Section members for $249.95. The supplement contains amendments to the MBCA through August 2013, in addition to case summaries, and law review citations.
