Hearty mid-winter greetings!
I hope you are staying warm and safe. I am writing to you from my new law firm, King & Spalding, where I am pleased to have joined the Special Matters and Government Investigations group to lead the firm's securities enforcement and regulation practice. Thankfully, I only had to move one block to my new office in Washington, D.C. This is an exciting change after 27 great years at my prior firm. If you have any transition recommendations, I welcome them.
Transition is happening throughout the Business Law Section, too, as the Section expands its focus into important areas affecting business lawyers and their clients. As one example, I am pleased to report that we have created a Corporate Social Responsibility Law Task Force. Its mission is to advance, support, and facilitate the development of the knowledge, skills, and expertise required to provide informed, insightful, and effective counsel with respect to corporate social responsibility-related legal requirements and business issues. The CSR Law Task Force is co-presenting the February 25th In The Know program and will present a CLE program at our Spring Meeting in Los Angeles. Join the Task Force now if you are interested in its mission and want to help develop upcoming projects.
