Upcoming CLE: Representing Debtors and Creditors in Individual Chapter 11 Cases

On Thursday, December 12, the Business Law Section, in conjunction with the ABA Center for Professional Development, is presenting a 1.5 credit CLE program titled, “Representing Debtors and Creditors in Individual Chapter 11 Cases.” This program will commence at 1:00 p.m. Eastern. CART services are available.

Program Description: This program will cover the myriad of issues facing debtors and creditors in individual Chapter 11 Cases, from the filing of a case to the entry of a discharge order. The topics of discussion will include:

  • Issues on eligibility and filing requirements that debtor counsel need to know
  • The employment issues that face debtor’s counsel
  • The dual estate issues in every individual Chapter 11 case, including tax issues
  • The problems facing debtors in payment of personal living expenses
  • The practical issues in drafting an individual Chapter 11 plan
  • The legal issues in confirming an individual Chapter 11 plan
  • The requirements under the Bankruptcy Code for modification of plans and the entry of a discharge order”
