On November 16, the ABA Board of Governors adopted a Resolution sponsored by the Business Law Section and co-sponsored by seven other sections, divisions and state bars opposing draft legislation by House Ways & Means Committee Chairman Dave Camp (R-MI) that would require all law firms and other personal service businesses with annual gross receipts over $10 million to use the accrual method of accounting rather than the traditional cash receipts and disbursements method of accounting.

On Tuesday, October 22, the Section sponsored another edition of the Insider Insights Law Student Program series at the Chicago law office of Gould and Ratner. The Insider Insights Program series is an initiative to give law students the opportunity to hear firsthand accounts from a diverse group of panelists about their journeys into business law. Through these accounts, the program aims to raise awareness and prepare students for the challenges and opportunities they may face in pursuing a business law career.
