The newly formed Individualized Learning Working Group (WG) was charged in August, 2009 with analyzing opportunities for repurposing current Section content to create new products and expand the appeal of current products to customers who are seeking individualized content and cutting edge formats for receiving it. The group analyzed potential new uses for each current section content source; discussed repurposing with ABA Staff and other sections; outlined pilot projects that could be initiated in 2010 and reviewed proposals for implementing ongoing content repurposing. As a result of this group, new products are available to Section members that are highlighted below.
The Section is pleased to publish Technology Licensing: A Practitioner's Guide this month and Data Breach and Encyrption Handbook next month. The Section will also publish International Guide to Combating Cybercrime, 2nd ed. and Future of Evidence during the next bar year.
Just as the Section takes pride in its products and highest quality publications, our on-site programs are an excellent opportunity to gain valuable information and network with judges and lawyers from around the world. I encourage you to register for the ABA Annual Meeting in San Francisco and attend the Section's six CLE programs, Friday, August 6th - Saturday, August 7th. Programs promise to be both informative and thought provoking with a diverse array of speakers. The Section Luncheon and Welcome Reception on Friday, August 6th are an excellent time to visit with colleagues and meet new contacts. The ABA will host over 200 CLE Plenary Sessions, the world's largest legal EXPO, and amazing opportunities to network with lawyers from across the country.
If your schedule does not permit you to attend the ABA Annual Meeting, there are many other Section discounted and free educational programs through live programming, teleconferences, and online sessions - presented by leading experts in the field on topics that matter to you, which are always highlighted on-line at www.abanet.org/scitech.
