ABA TECHSHOW ® Registration is now open!
Registration for ABA TECHSHOW® is now open and available. Don't miss the opportunity to receive complimentary full-conference access by registering now! ABA TECHSHOW, the world's premier legal technology conference and exposition, will be held f rom March 22-24, 2007 at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers and promises to bring three exciting days of programming and networking. LPM Fall Meeting 2006 in Vancouver
The LPM Fall Meeting was a huge success! Over 100 LPM members and leadership gathered in Vancouver, British Columbia from October 12-14, 2006 at the Westin Bayshore Resort. There were three days of meetings, receptions, networking, and fun activities for members to come together to share ideas, create programs, conduct LPM business, and meet and mingle with colleagues.
The LPM Section met in conjunction with the Pacific Legal Technology Conference (PLTC). This gave LPM members a chance to meet some fellow Canadian and Northeastern U.S. lawyers while discussing legal technology issues. Dr. John Izzo spoke on Thursday afternoon during the plenary session and was very informative.
Throughout the meeting, LPM members attended the practice core group committee meetings to discuss issues concerning marketing, management, technology and finance; the Marketing and Membership Meeting; Women Rainmakers; and the Section Council Meeting to a name a few. Everyone enjoyed the off-site dinner at Telus World of Science, and the exclusive access to the ever-popular Body Worlds 3 exhibit and to The Mitchell Odyssey Foundation: Eureka! exhibition gallery was amazing!. All in attendance absorbed a lot of information, were able to bond with colleagues, and truly enjoyed their time in Vancouver! If you missed this meeting, you must join us for the next one!

Technology Solutions for the Mississippi Practitioner
LPM Disaster Relief Task Force in connection with the Legal Electronic Document Institute is co-sponsoring the bi-annual seminar hosted by the Mississippi Bar's Technology Committee entitled, "Technology Solutions for the Mississippi Practitioner" on Thursday, November 2, 2006 at the Hilton Hotel in Jackson. Lawyers and firms recovering from last year's hurricane damage, along with others, will learn more about the use of technology to prepare for and recover from emergencies that the firm may experience when dealing with such disasters. The speakers include nationally know experts on legal technology and law office management. Sessions focus on e-discovery, Adobe Acrobat, wireless connectivity, case management and an overview of what to purchase for your law office. A MS Supreme Court representative will discuss the court's electronic filing/case management initiative. Breakfast (roundtable) and lunch included. $15.00 pre-registration. Up to 8 CLE hours.
