Public Service Project:
Honoring Hope for Domestic Violence Survivors
A Day of Service and Learning in New Orleans
Friday, May 2, 2008
GP|Solo members will join with the ABA Commission on Domestic Violence and the ABA Judicial Division to present a day of public service during the GP|Solo Spring Meeting in New Orleans.
The day's events start with a CLE session, entitled "Improving Civil Legal Assistance for Victims of Domestic Violence in New Orleans." This is followed by a tour of the New Orleans Family Justice Center and lunch at the Center.
The afternoon will be spent on two separate service projects offered at two different locations: the Family Justice Center and the Crescent House Healing Center. At the Family Justice Center, volunteers will help set up the new indoor child and family play center, as well as set up furniture and new, donated toys. At the Crescent House Healing Center, volunteers will help develop outdoor children’s play area, including spreading mulch and planting.
Registration for this public service project is separate from your meeting registration. To register, simply download the registration form. For more information on this project, as well as the opportunity to donate to the charities listed above, visit the GP|Solo Spring Meeting Webpage.
In conjunction with the meeting in New Orleans, the GP|Solo Division encourages you to help these programs rebuild their services for victims of domestic violence. Your generous donation will have an immediate and direct impact!
All gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law and will be acknowledged by a letter of receipt from Catholic Charities. You may donate in either of the following two ways:
