Our committee is known for its collegiality; the quality of its programs; and the identification and discussion of cutting edge issues in our practice areas. The purpose of our electronic newsletter is to provide the opportunity to continue addressing issues and exchanging ideas between our meetings and to update members of what took place at the meetings. In short, it is intended to keep our members connected.
The success of this newsletter depends upon the participation of our members. We are frequently asked about the length of articles and know that there is concern of having time to do one more thing. Think of an article as a blog post—long enough to address the issue. We hope that you will participate and help to add a dimension to our committee that will continue our tradition of excellence.
A Message from the Chairs
Welcome to ERR's revived and invigorated E-zine! Thanks to John Holmquist and Tiffanie Benfer, our E-zine editors, and those who contributed articles, we are off to a wonderful start with our online newsletter. Your comments, ideas and suggestions for how the E-zine can be useful to ERR members are always welcome.
We hope that many of our ERR colleagues will join us in New Orleans at the 7th Annual Section of Labor and Employment Law Conference from November 6-9, 2013, at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside. Many ERR members will be speaking at the Conference, and plans are underway for an ERR reception, so keep an eye out for updates. You can check out the Conference Overview here. Be sure to register before September 13 to take advantage of the early registration discounts! We will have the brochure for our 2014 Midwinter Meeting in Los Cabos, Mexico, available at the Conference and hope to entice many new attendees to join ERR.
Speaking of Los Cabos. We look forward to an exciting program at the beautiful Westin Resort & Spa overlooking the Sea of Cortez. Los Cabos features two towns with two very different vibes: Cabo San Lucas, a vivacious party town, and San Jose del Cabo, a charming traditional Mexican town. The Westin is situated between these sister towns. Our dedicated Program Co-Chairs--Dan Bonnett, Jeff Heller, Eric Iskra, Glen Savits and Diane Smason--and our many substantive subcommittees are working hard this summer putting together four days of panels focusing on the most important and up-to-date developments in labor and employment law. There also will be plenty of time for relaxing and enjoying Los Cabos' many available activities, such as sport fishing, golf, shopping, snorkeling, horseback riding and numerous other fun options. And, the restaurants are amazing--everything from one of the world's best seafood tacos restaurant to haute cuisine. Check out the ERR webpage to keep abreast of the latest updates.
We look forward to seeing you in November and in March!
