Students from the Rule of Law Initiative's Street Law Program in southern Kyrgyzstan competed in the annual Street LawOlympiad in Oshon May 23, an event designed to test students' knowledge in the areas of basiccivics, law and democracy. Students from 10 public schools and three maleand three female madrassas submitted essays, performed skits, and submittedpaintings and drawings illustrating their knowledge of the subjects.
The Street Law Program in Kyrgyzstanhas been operating since 2001, reaching over 5000 students since its inception.The program currently operates Street Law Centers in Osh, Bishkek, Jalalabat and Karakol.
