FIRST-TIME ATTENDEE HELPFUL HINTS

We look forward to seeing you at the Spring Conference, May 3 - 5 in Nashville, TN.  Below are some HELPFUL HINTS to assist you in getting the most out your first ABA YLD Conference experience. If you have questions contact the National Conferences Team Coordinator, Kimber Gallo.

PLANNING YOUR MEETING

Registration and the ABA YLD Hotel.  The early-bird registration rates are available until April 11:  $85 member/ $95 Non-Member.  After April 11 rates are $135 member/ $175 Non-Member. Please note that some events are ticketed. 

Unless otherwise noted the ABA YLD events will be at the Hilton Nashville Downtown, 121 4th Avenue South, 615.620.1000.  A block of rooms have been reserved for May 2, 2012 - May 6, 2012 with special rates from $170.  The special room rates will be available until April 11 or until the group block is sold-out, whichever comes first.

Review the online schedule, before you get to the meeting.  There are over 25 events scheduled over the 3 day period starting on Thursday May 3 at 2:00 PM.  The full schedule and program descriptions are available online.

Attendance is open for YLD Programs and events.  However, tickets need to be purchased for the below events. Please note that our ticketed events do sell out. Advance ticket purchase is recommended.

May 4 – Diversity Luncheon featuring former Secretary of Energy and Fisk University Hazel O'Leary and Nashville Attorney George Barrett ($10)

May 4 – Dinner Dance at the Country Music Hall of Fame ($95 Before April 11 / $150 After April 11)

May 5 – No Courts, No Justice, No Freedom Luncheon ($45)

CLE credit is offered for most YLD programs. Accreditation has been requested from every state with mandatory continuing legal education requirements for lawyers. Certificates of attendance will be available at the conclusion of all programs offering CLE credit. Be sure to fill out the sign-in sheet only once for the entire meeting  (and attorneys must sign-in and out of every program), along with all other necessary forms for credit in your state (please be aware that each state has its own rules and regulations). There will be information at the meeting to help you determine which CLE forms to sign.

First Time Attendee, Council and Scholars Reception at the Hilton Downtown (McKissmack Terrace) on Thursday, May 2, from 4:30 PM to 5:15 PM.  Meet new colleagues and learn more about the YLD Meeting Events and the Division.

ADVANCE REGISTRATION IS NOT REQUIRED AND ATTENDANCE IS COMPLIMENTARY.

The Welcome Reception at Wild Horse Saloon on Thursday, May 3, 8:30 PM to 11:00 PM. Join us for complimentary reception will allow you to network with other young lawyers and catch up with colleagues.

ADVANCE REGISTRATION IS NOT REQUIRED AND ATTENDANCE IS COMPLIMENTARY.

The Diversity Luncheon at the Hilton Downtown (Boone Room) on Friday, May 4, 12:45 PM to 2:00 PM.  Join us for this special session featuring former Secretary of Energy and Fisk University Hazel O'Leary, and Nashville Attorney George Barrett.

TICKETS: $10

The Dinner Dance at the Country Music Hall of Fame on Friday, May 5, 6:30 PM to 11:30 PM. Join young lawyer conference attendees and area young lawyers for a wonderful night of networking, fine food and dancing.
