Young Tunisian Lawyers Trained in Law Practice Management

December 2012

Between October 29 and November 2, the ABA Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI) and the Tunisian Young Lawyers Association (YLA) trained young Tunisian lawyers on law practice management. A continuation of ABA ROLI’s and YLA’s efforts to expand professional development opportunities for Tunisian lawyers, the three-day Tunis workshop was led by a seasoned U.S.-based lawyer.

The training covered best practices in managing a law practice, including attracting and retaining clients, structuring fees, timekeeping and filing. It also highlighted the varieties of law firm structures, policies, and facilities and operations. Following the discussions, participants took part in practical exercises, which helped them identify ways of applying the best practices in managing their own firms. Participants said that the training gave them a more comprehensive vision of their firms’ potential to grow and develop.
