On March 25, 2007, in Wattaya, Oman, the ABA Rule of Law Initiative conducted a workshop on the importance of legal education to professors at the Oman College of Law. Judge Ernest Borunda, retired from the San Diego Superior Court and currently working on a legal training project in Macedonia, led the workshop. Judge Borunda was in Oman to help with the development of training programs for professors, judges and lawyers. The workshop was part of the Oman College of Law’s continuing effort to develop a new curriculum to enhance the practical skills of its graduates. The ABA has been assisting with the establishment of legal clinics and other practical skills education for students at the College of Law, which is one of only two institutions providing legal education in Oman.
