Computers to be installed for legal E-learning in Morocco

08.20.2007

The Rule of Law Initiative Morocco field staff continue to make headway on the development of the e-learning judicial curriculum on the Moroccan Family Code and International Human Rights. Every Friday during the month of July, a review panel of curriculum developers, staff from the Moroccan judicial training institute (l’Institut Supérieur de la Magistrature, or ISM), and the software company hired to transform the eight courses on Morocco’s Family Code into interactive multimedia modules (MTDs), meet to discuss the development of the modules and to make recommendations for changes. The ABA-purchased computers to be used in the ISM regional training centers have arrived and will be installed in early August in preparation for the piloting of the courses, scheduled to occur in early September. Upon completion of the implementation stage of the e-courses in Morocco, the project will be rolled-out to Algeria, Bahrain, and Jordan. The project is funded by the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI).
